It is that time of year again, when Lucca
is invaded by strange creatures. In the Piazzas Harry Potter mingles happily
with some creatures from outer space while Alice in wonderland steals a kiss
from Jack Sparrow. Lucca seems to
have perfected a contemporary form of carnival. The narrow streets may be
packed but the good humour of this young crowd out to enjoy themselves gives
this old city a burst of youthful enthusiasm.
I spotted a good looking pirate.
