On a warm sunny winter's day, I love to skive off work and go to the coast and feel those sun rays bathed in seas salt on my face. The wide sandy beach at Viareggio is denuded of all the summer paraphernalia and left to the locals to enjoy as a winter playground. The dogs and children run about, and the odd hardy soul must dip their toes in the water. We were strolling along looking when we stumbled upon Daedalus and Icarus, seemingly washed up on the beach after falling from the sky. These gigantic bronzes took our breath away and at sunset, we were transported to another world.  It was not a disappointment to return to earth and enjoy a favourite pasta dish, so please join us on the beach and in the kitchen.
