LUMINARA DI SANTA CROCE IN LUCCA TUSCANY - A 1240 YEAR OLD TRADITION
On the 13th September every year for over 1,000 years the city of Lucca venerates the Volto Santo, a wooden figure of Christ on the Cross that mysteriously appeared in the city and chose its place of rest. The city is lit only by candles and the procession winds through the streets.
